Goodsted has two admin reports that cover different things. This article explains the difference, when to reach for each one, and where their numbers can genuinely overlap.
The two reports
Engagement report (Reports › Engagement) - volunteer hours, participants and their value, plus donations (the Logged Donations, Money Donated, In-Kind Items and In-Kind Value cards). It does not show measures, commitments or contracts.
Delivery report (Reports › Delivery) - contract and commitment progress, health status, and delivered value. It only appears when Commitment Delivery is switched on, and it doesn't show plain volunteer hours or donation cards on their own.
Which one to open
If you want the everyday picture of who's volunteering, how many hours are being logged, and what's being donated, the Engagement report is where you'd go - every app has it. If you're running Commitment Delivery and need to know whether you're on track against what you've promised a client or supplier, that's the Delivery report - it only exists for apps with that module on.
Where they overlap
The two reports aren't entirely separate - the same underlying activity can show up on both, in two different ways, whenever a measure is attached to it:
Volunteer hours: if an activity has a measure built on an indicator that tracks Volunteer Hour Logs, hours logged against it show as hours on the Engagement report, and the same hours automatically create a measure log that feeds delivered value on the Delivery report.
Donations: the same thing happens with donations. If a measure is built on an indicator that tracks Donation Logs, a donation logged against that activity shows on the Engagement report's donation cards, and also creates a measure log that feeds the Delivery report.
In both cases, it's one underlying record (an hours log or a donation) being counted twice, on two reports, because it's doing two jobs at once - contributing to your general engagement picture, and contributing to a specific measure's delivery. It isn't double-counted within either report on its own.
📌 Note: Not every hour or donation overlaps like this - only ones logged against an activity that has a matching auto measure attached. Hours or donations on an activity with no such measure show on the Engagement report only.
