Measures let you record and put a value on what your work delivers, beyond volunteer hours and donations. Three things sit in a chain: an indicator, a measure built on it, and the measure logs that record what gets delivered.
The building blocks
Indicator - what is counted and how. Each indicator comes from Goodsted's fixed library and carries a unit and a tracking mode. You enable the ones you need per app.
Measure - the named thing you track, built on one indicator. It sets the Unit Value (the per-unit figure) where you price it, and can carry a Cause.
Measure log - a record of delivered value against a measure, created automatically or entered by hand.
Where measures fit in
Measures live in the Measurement area of the Admin Panel, alongside Volunteer Hour Logs and Donation Logs. If commitment delivery is switched on, a measure's approved logs also roll up to a commitment, its contract and the Delivery report.
