How to add, import and edit measures

Create the named things you track, set their value, and manage them.

Written by Sevgi Sairoglu Sezginer

A measure is the named thing you track, built on one enabled indicator. This article shows an admin how to add, import and edit measures.

Where to find it

Go to the Admin Panel and open Measurement › Measures.

Adding a measure

  1. Choose the indicator it's built on.

  2. Give the measure a name.

  3. Set its Unit Value (the per-unit figure) if you price it here. You can leave it unpriced and price it on a commitment or activity later.

  4. Optionally set a Cause.

  5. Save.

📌 Note: Several measures can sit on the same indicator, so you can track the same unit in different ways.

Importing and editing

To add several at once, use Import and follow the template. To change a measure later, open it from the listing and edit.

📖 Note: During import Copy Indicator IDs from Settings → Data & Categories. The system uses the ID to resolve the indicator name, unit, and tracking mode automatically. If a Unit Value is set on a measure, the unit value field will not appear when that measure is linked to an activity. To allow a custom unit value on activities, leave the Unit Value column blank.
