How to remove admin rights from a member

Overview

This article explains how to remove admin rights from a member of your Goodsted app. This action can only be performed by another user who currently holds the admin role. Removing admin rights reverts the user back to a standard member, limiting their access to the Admin Panel.

Before you begin

  • You must have admin access to your app.

  • The person whose admin rights you want to remove must currently hold the admin role.

⚠️ Important: An admin cannot remove their own admin rights. Another admin in your app must perform this action on your behalf. Make sure your app always has at least one other admin who can manage role changes.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Click on your profile icon and select Switch to Admin Panel from the dropdown menu.

  2. From the left-hand menu, navigate to the Members page. You will see the full list of all members in your app.

  3. Use the search bar to find the member whose admin rights you'd like to remove by typing their first or last name.

  4. Once you've located the member, move to the Actions column on the right-hand side of their row.

  5. Click the three dots (...) icon to open the actions menu.

  6. Select Make Member from the list of options.

Expected Result

The user's Role field will update from Admin to Member, confirming the change has been applied successfully. The user will no longer have access to the Admin Panel or its features.
