How to mark an opportunity complete?

Learn how to complete an opportunity, including the new step for confirming the date and time it took place.

Once an opportunity has been finalised, you can mark it as complete. Completing an opportunity now uses a two-step flow: first you confirm when it took place, then you confirm who took part. This article walks through both steps.

Where to mark an opportunity complete

You can mark an opportunity complete in two places:

  • From the opportunity page, using the Change Status button and clicking on Mark Completed.

  • From your Dashboard, via the three-dot menu in the Actions column by clicking on Mark Completed.

📝 Note: You can only complete opportunities that are In Progress.

Step 1: Confirm the date and time (new)

The first step of the flow asks you to confirm when the opportunity actually took place. How this looks depends on the opportunity:

  • Fixed-date opportunities: the date and time are pre-filled and read-only. If you need to change them, click the pen icon to edit.

  • Flexible opportunities: the date and time start empty and editable. Enter when it happened, or choose to skip this step.

If you enter a date and time, they'll need to be valid before you can continue to the next step. After a date is entered and opportunity is marked completed, the opportunity page date and time shows the updated dates, instead of showing as flexible.

Step 2: Confirm participants

Next, choose which participants completed the opportunity. Mark those who took part as yes, and those who didn't complete or didn't participate as no.

Share feedback

After marking the opportunity complete, the participants receive an email notification and a feedback form is being sent. As the opportunity lead, you are also asked to share feedback on the participants. You can always return to the opportunity page or your Dashboard later to complete it.
