How to import activities with linked measures and commitments

Import activities together with their measures and commitment links in one file.

Written by Sevgi Sairoglu Sezginer

You can import activities in bulk and set their measures and commitment links at the same time. This article shows how, and how the Commitment ID and Measure ID columns relate to each other.

How to import

  1. Go to the Admin Panel and open your Activities.

  2. Click Import, then Download import template - it includes all required and optional columns with example data. Accepted file formats are .csv and .xlsx.

  3. Complete the activity rows (see below for how linking works), then drag and drop your file into the upload area, or click to browse for it.

  4. Click Import.

How the template is structured

  • Each row in your spreadsheet is one activity.

  • To link an activity to a commitment, add its Commitment ID - the activity's measure is then inherited automatically from that commitment. Don't also fill in a Measure ID on that row; if a Commitment ID is set, measures shouldn't be specified separately.

  • If an activity isn't linked to a commitment, you can instead link measures directly, using one or more comma-separated Measure IDs.

  • Copy Commitment IDs from the Commitments page and Measure IDs from the Measures page before you start filling in rows.

📌 Note: A Commitment ID and directly-specified Measure IDs are mutually exclusive on a row - set one or the other, not both.
